hobby as in favourite past times...
eversince my hubby bought me an electric oven a few months ago (thanks abang :)), i have this syndrom of trying out recipes.. all sorts of recipes .. i have tried out pizzas, chicken mushroom pie, shepherds pie, brownies, rosemary chicken... that oven is merely a catalyst but i tried out other recipes which does not involve oven too.. mee jawa, pasta marinara with white sauce, american potato salad, frozen cheesecake, kek biskut marie.. some ok some not.. Pizza.. only after the 3rd time that i get it right... chicken pie.. have tried once, not fully successful because the crust did not come out as expected... don't have quite the right mood yet to try again... brownies is instant.. very easy.. hehheh.. just buy Pillsburry instant brownies mix from the supermarket... add in a few ingredient... kacau 50 times.. then bake... voila... brownies is ready... hehhe.. ngelat je nih but the kids LOVE it very much... sheperd pie.. hmm.. that one i master it already... no problem.. it is my favourite and my family's favourite also (K wa, Elly, Eima, Uki, K Idah, my anak buah)... everytime we do makan2 they will ask.. got that pie or not... not the kids though... diorang buat tak kisah je.. but pizza yes they like it especially Luqman.. sometime out of nowhere suddenly.. "mama, esok mama buat pizza kan.." err... did mama mention anything about making pizza tomorrow? i didn't recall... anyway, one day when we were jalan-jalan at South City Plaza, Luqman want to eat pizza.. there we ordered the Dominos Pizza.. the regular size is RM20++.. waa.. with that amount of money i can make 4 large pizzas, you know.. ceh mentang2 la dah tau buat pizza sendiri... hehheheh...
isk.. talking about all this stuff makes my mouth waters already.. what more, i'm fasting today! cobaan...
next is to try the chocolate cake.. last week i attend the making chocolate cake class at Nina's house.. her chocolate cakes were SOOOOOOOO delicious... nyum nyum.... it looks very easy.. and the ingredients are not very complicated.. she used local cocoa powder, Giant condensed milk, local cooking chocolate, tepung cap sauh, very jimat one... even the way the ganache (chocolate topping) was made was really simple.. you don't even have to use the double boiler..just use your kuali.. that's it.. i have yet to try this one because not enough equipment.. for one i don't have the suitable loyang to start with.. and a few items like metric cup, pengayak tepung. That day i went for windows shopping at Giant Kelana Jaya.. trying to look for some of the stuff.. i cannot find the local cocoa powder.. i can only find the Van Houten/Vochelle cocoa powder which is quite expensive.. around RM10 per tin. I remember nina said she bought at 3.50 per KG from a bakers shop.. they said the nearest is at bandar kajang next to Maidin.. where is that?? hhhe... nama je dok kat kajang tapi bandar kajang pun jarang pergi.. tak kuasa la.. crowded semacam.. that day Eima said there is one at Bdr Tun Hussein Onn.. hmm.. ok.. i am just waiting for gaji masuk before i set for shopping for cakes ingredients.. can't wait....
next one on the list is the chocolate chip cookies ala Famous Amos.. got the recipes from K Syieda when we had a gathering at her house... it really tastes like the one that you buy from famous amos... if ok, then it will be one of my biskut raya this year... sure gempak.. and it will be my first ever homemade kuih raya.. (err.. tak pernah buat kuih raya lagi setakat ni, selalu tunjuk je.. hehhehe...)
huh, enough of this foodstuff rambling... mama better do what mama said mama wants to do... jangan cakap aje...
