Without You - Sami Yusuf

Hari ni seharian mendengar album Without You - Sami Yusuf. Album ini agak kontroversi kerana dikatakan diterbitkan tanpa kebenaran Sami Yusuf oleh bekas recording company beliau, Awakening Records. Dikatakan lagu-lagu di dalam album itu masih belum sempurna sepenuhnya (demo tape). Oleh itu beliau dan recording company sekarang ETM International telah melancarkan kempen boikot Awakening di sini http://boycott-awakening.com/.

Album ini telah dibeli oleh suami. Sedap pula bila dengar banyak kali. Tapi boleh dengar dalam Innova je. Bila naik kereta asing tak dapat la dengar. Saya ingatkan lagu-lagu Sami Yusuf dah tak best dah. 1st album Al-Mu'allim memang best. Tapi album kedua My Ummah macam tak best sangat. Sebab tu tak beria-ia nak dapatkan album seterusnya. Tapi bila dah beli, bila dengar banyak kali rasa best pula. Cuma sebelum ni tak tau pula tentang kontroversi album ni. Jadi Sami Yusuf ingatkan para peminat dia jangan beli album Without You ini. Tapi kami dah terbeli nak buat macamana kan.

Dengan sebab itulah juga dalam website boikot awakening tu ada link untuk download semua lagu free saja. Apa lagi.. download je la..... Tak payahlah tunggu naik innova baru nak dengar.

Hari ni saya enjoy lagu-lagu Sami Yusuf yang fake version tu sambil siapkan monthly report...

Al-Mu'allim

Dulu mama memang ada simpan videoclip Al-Mu'allim ni dlm pc. pastu hard disk corrupt.. pastu carik balik dalam internet link tu dah tokleh guna dah.. sampai la baru-baru ni mama terpikir nak carik kat youtube. nasib baik jumpa... bestnyer.. mama suka lagu ni.. even the kidz pun suka.. selalu mainkan album al-mu'allim dlm keta.. bukan lagu ni je best... lagu-lagu lain pun best juga..

tapi cuma lately ni dengar-dengar ramai sangat remaja2 pompuan yang taksub dengan Sami Yusuf ni.. especially yang kat middle east sana la... and Sami Yusuf ni pun banyak buat concert nasyeed and turned out most of the audience are young females which it was believed that they came for the wrong reason.. apa taknye.. dah la lagu sedap.. suara pun sedap.. hensem plak tu... they scream at him, shout his names then ada yang sampai naik atas kerusi..

i don't know.. i believe Sami's intention was good.. that is to spread islam through his songs.. but now seems like the scenario has become a bit complicated..

anyway, sometimes i just wonder, how do people get inspiration to write a song?.. Arwah bak wrote some, Abg Azim also do... not nasheed though... well, even though i am somehow 'berdarah seni' :) but i just cannot imagine how people do this stuff... but i do appreciate their effort...

i think everybody loves to hear music.. it is our fitrah.. well maybe i should not call it music.. maybe i should call it melodieous rythmic or something... but it is up to oneself to decide what kind of 'music' that they want to hear.. the basic is still the same... a melody, add some musical arrangement, put some nice lyrics... voila... if the melody is accompanied by gedegung gedegang macam nak pecah rumah.. with lyrics that is ntahapahapantah... then just forget it... but if nice melody, with nice percussion arrangement, with nice lyrics that amar maaruf nahi munkar.. oklah kan..

ok i don't have that much time to spare here... it 5th of the month... it's reports time... :)

Sami Yusuf is a UK nasheed singer.

When i first heard his song Al-Mu'allim, i was like, wow this is a very beautiful song - beatiful voice, beautiful melody, beautiful arrangement of voices and percussions... and the most important thing is that it carries a beautiful message.. it is about our Prophet Muhammad SAW.. it is just beautiful.... I was actually accidentally heard the song when i was googling for Zain Bikha who sings Give Thanks To Allah which some mistook him for Michael Jackson.

Sami wrote, sing and produce his own songs. He is 23, very young and handsome.. hheheh... i just need to give credit to him because he uses his talent in a good way... conveying the message of Islam.. he absolutely set a good example to the young muslim around the world.. try listening to his songs.. Al-Muallim, Allahu, ya Mustafa, The Creator... he set a new standard in a nasheed world... try watching his Al-Muallim video clip.. you will want to watch it over and over again...

He was actually here in Malaysia last 2 weeks.. doing some promotion in TV3, TV1 and IKIM. Unfortunately i didn't have the chance to follow any of his program.. he was in MHI but i just heard Nizar said.. "Hari ini kita ada artis undangan Sami Yusuf.. bla.. bla.. bla..." that was at 7.30 am.. Nizar was just telling the people about their agenda for the day.. and i was heading to the office.. so no chance to see sami live at TV...

I did some surfing on where to get his CD here in Malaysia.. At that time, no distributor in Malaysia.. so i thought what if i just order the album from the UK distributor because they do send it all over the world... the price is 7.99 pounds.. but when you convert to RM plus shipping... etc...etc.. i changed my mind... hehheh.. tak berapa mampu la... nway, i can still listen to the song (downloadble from his site).. but just recently they add a new distributor in Malaysia and that is As-Sahrah in Kajang.. i have yet to go there...

Salut to Sami.. i hope he will continue this good thing and will not stray from the good intention especially when he becomes more and more popular...
